Art therapy for emotional wellbeing

A colour, an image, a little space for what you feel

When work, family and everyday responsibilities fill your days, it can be difficult to recognise what is happening inside. You may have plenty to say, yet struggle to find a starting point.

Art therapy, as explored here, offers a creative and reflective space. A mark on paper can give a feeling a shape before you need to explain it. The aim is personal expression and discovery, with room for your own pace.

Expression before explanation

You do not need to draw well or produce something beautiful. Colour, collage, a simple shape or a few written words can become ways of noticing your experience. The meaning belongs to you: a picture is not a test to be interpreted from outside.

Lucia brings creative activity together with listening, imagination and moments of meditation. Instead of finding the correct answer, you can begin to recognise a need, a boundary or a resource that has been difficult to hear.

A small creative practice

Let today's feeling choose a colour

You only need a sheet of paper and a pencil or a few colours. Keep the practice small and stop whenever you wish.

  1. Choose without correcting

Pick a colour that seems close to the weight or feeling you are carrying today. There is no right choice.

  2. Give it room

Let the colour move as a line, patch, scribble or free shape. Notice the gesture rather than the finished image.

  3. Add one sentence

Under the image, complete: Today I might need... A few honest words are enough.

The Maree Creative approach

A note from Lucia

A creative harbour does not ask you to arrive with everything in order. Sometimes the first useful step is simply to recognise what is here, without turning it into another task to perform.

Your questions

A little more clarity

Do I need artistic experience?

No. Simple materials and a willingness to explore are enough. This is about expression and attention, rather than drawing technique.

Will Lucia interpret my drawings?

Your own associations and experience guide the conversation. The image is a starting point for listening, not a diagnostic test.

How can I explore working with Lucia?

Contact Lucia to discuss what you are looking for and ask about language, format and availability.

A first conversation

You can begin with a colour. The words may find their way afterwards.

Write to Lucia about what you are looking for, and ask about language, format and availability.

These pages explore creative expression, personal reflection and everyday wellbeing. The approach does not provide diagnosis, psychotherapy or healthcare. The current Circle of Light group is guided in Italian.
