Art therapy for self-exploration
Listening to the images and words that feel like your own
You may want to understand yourself better while finding that thinking harder brings the same familiar answers. Sometimes a shape, colour or unexpected word offers a different place to begin.
Art therapy for self-exploration, as approached by Lucia, makes room for a personal creative language. An image can hold a question without requiring you to explain everything at once.

When you would like to hear yourself more clearly
Having a feeling without the words for it
Wanting to recognise your own needs
Looking for a quieter way to reflect
Let the meaning belong to you

A drawing can be a container for something that is still taking shape. You might return to it with a different word, notice a detail or choose to leave it untouched. Your associations matter more than a fixed interpretation of a symbol.
Lucia's approach connects artistic expression with storytelling, listening and meditation. The page becomes a place for curiosity: what catches your attention, what feels close, and what might be asking for a little care?
A small creative practice
A shape and a word
Use a plain sheet of paper. You can keep everything you make private.
- Draw a containing shape
Try a circle, shell, house or free outline. Let it represent your inner space as it feels today.
- Put a word inside
Choose a word that feels honest, even if it is provisional, surprising or difficult to explain.
- Listen for a request
Complete: This part of me might be asking for... Leave the answer open if nothing comes immediately.
Your questions
A little more clarity

Do symbols have a correct meaning?
Not in this exercise. A shell, colour or line can mean something different to each person. Your own experience gives it context.
Do I have to share the image?
No. A private page can be a complete practice in itself. If you explore it with Lucia, you can discuss what you are comfortable sharing.
How is this different from an art lesson?
The emphasis is personal expression and reflection, rather than learning a technique or producing a particular artistic result.

A first conversation
You can listen to an image before you know how to explain it.
Write to Lucia about what you are looking for, and ask about language, format and availability.
These pages explore creative expression, personal reflection and everyday wellbeing. The approach does not provide diagnosis, psychotherapy or healthcare. The current Circle of Light group is guided in Italian.
