Feeling disconnected from yourself
A little space to hear your own voice again
You can be available for everyone while feeling distant from your own experience. There is organising, responding and holding things together, yet little room to ask where you are in the middle of it all.
The Shore Within explores feeling disconnected from yourself through images, writing, creativity and listening. It is an invitation to recognise what feels true today, without having to recover an ideal version of yourself.

When your own experience has become difficult to hear
Knowing what others need before noticing your own needs
Moving through the day without much room to pause
Wanting to recognise a wish or boundary that feels personal
Begin with something small and honest

A word, a colour or a small physical gesture can offer a starting point for attention. You might notice closeness, distance, warmth, heaviness or simply uncertainty. The experience does not have to become clear immediately.
Lucia's approach values personal meaning. An image is not there to tell you who you should be; it can give you a way to ask what matters, what needs room and what kind of boundary might feel respectful in your daily life.
A small creative practice
Five minutes for a small return to yourself
Choose a comfortable position and a sheet of paper. Adapt or skip any step that does not feel right.
- Notice a point of contact
You might place a hand on your chest or simply notice your feet. Allow a few ordinary breaths without trying to change them.
- Find one honest word
Write a word for the present sensation or experience: distant, full, quiet, unsure, alive, or something else.
- Draw that word
Turn it into a shape or colour. It does not need to represent a recognisable object.
- Complete two sentences
Write: Today I am moving away from... and Today I would like to move a little towards...
- Choose a gentle boundary
Notice one small way to respect your space today: asking for time, saying not now or making a few minutes for yourself.
Your questions
A little more clarity

Do I need to explain everything I notice?
No. A private word or image can remain unfinished. You can give it time rather than turn it into an immediate explanation.
Is this a clinical description of disconnection?
This page uses the phrase for an everyday experience of feeling distant from your own needs. It does not assess symptoms or provide a diagnosis.
How can I explore this approach with Lucia?
Contact Lucia to discuss what you are looking for, and ask about the suitability, language, format and availability of a creative session.
