Feeling lost in life

A little orientation, without having to redraw your whole future

You may be keeping everything moving while feeling unsure of your own direction. There are things to do, messages to answer and decisions to make, yet the question of what you want remains difficult to hear.

Feeling lost in life does not always need an immediate plan. A creative pause can give the uncertainty somewhere to land: a page, a few marks and a question small enough to approach today.

Draw a map of the present

A map does not have to predict the future. It can show where you are now: what feels heavy, what draws your curiosity and what you are hesitant to approach. Seeing these together may give a familiar question a different shape.

Lucia's creative approach brings images, writing and listening into this exploration. Your page can remain provisional. A first direction may be a modest gesture of attention, rather than a decision about your whole life.

A small creative practice

Five small marks towards orientation

Allow a few minutes. There is no need for the page to look like a real map.

  1. Draw the confusion

Use lines, curves or arrows to represent how the present feels.

  2. Mark three places

Add a small circle for something that weighs on you, one for a wish and one for a fear.

  3. Give each a word

Write a word beside each circle. It can be incomplete or temporary.

  4. Choose the gentlest place

Notice which point feels possible to approach today without demanding too much of yourself.

  5. Name one gesture

Complete: To come a little closer to myself today, I could... Keep the answer small and concrete.

A note from Lucia

A harbour offers a place to pause before you choose a route. You can begin by locating yourself, rather than knowing every part of the journey.

Your questions

A little more clarity

What if I cannot identify a wish yet?

You can leave that circle empty. The exercise makes room for uncertainty as well as for the things you can name.

Does this tell me which decision to make?

No. It offers a way to reflect on your experience. Decisions remain yours and may need time, information or support beyond a creative exercise.

Where can I explore the next step?

The pages on creative personal growth and feeling stuck offer related starting points. You can also contact Lucia to discuss the approach and current availability.

A first conversation

You do not have to see the whole route to notice one place worth approaching.

Write to Lucia about what you are looking for, and ask about language, format and availability.

These pages explore creative expression, personal reflection and everyday wellbeing. The approach does not provide diagnosis, psychotherapy or healthcare. The current Circle of Light group is guided in Italian.
